Two years ago, it seemed all eyes had turned to the T.V. screens. The mythical beings that had made up both a variety of good and bad guys in literature and in the movies, were real. Vampires had walked this earth since the beginning of time, and just now they were coming out of the coffin. And it’s all thanks to Japanese scientists, and their concoction of synthetic blood, this whole ordeal was doable. Vampires, they claimed, could live amongst us; could mainstream. They no longer had to kill to feed, and instead could thrive off of TrueBlood. That is, if they chose to do so.
In the past two years, it has been a coin toss on just how the world has reacted to vampires. Some countries place high prices on their heads, wanting them ‘killed’ off, captured and tested. Others, (such as the United States for example), have embraced this new race; have recognized them as ‘citizens’ and given them basic rights. Groups and cults have formed; vampire sympathizers and fang bangers, as well as anti-vampire, religious based groups such as the Fellowship of the Sun. Life has become anything but peaceful in the world, and there’s no place to hide; no place to escape from the supernatural.
ABOUT TRUE BLOOD:
True Blood is a television series on HBO, based upon Charlaine Harris’ Southern Vampire Mysteries novels. For those who haven’t seen the show or haven’t read the books, here is just the trailer for the show to get a feel for the world – link. While based in the world of True Blood and the Southern Vampire Mysteries we are not a true fandom game. This means that we don’t have any of the characters from the books as well as the show, and most likely will not be accepting any of the fandom’s characters. Do you have to read the books or watch the show to join? No. Should you? Yes, because both are highly amazing, entertaining, and just over all awesome pieces of fiction.
